Saudi Physics Team Dominates Asia Olympiad with 5 Award Wins

Saudi Arabia Shines at the 24th Asian Physics Olympiad

Riyadh: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia showcased its excellence at the 24th Asian Physics Olympiad 2024 in Kampar, Malaysia, from June 3 to 10, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Monday.

Fueled by the support of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, known as Mawhiba, and the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Arabian team went head-to-head with 208 students from 27 different countries.

The team of eight members clinched a bronze medal and garnered four certificates of appreciation, according to the SPA.

Mazen Al-Shakhs from Al-Ahsa Education Department secured the bronze medal, while Wissam Al-Qanbar from the Eastern Province, Ahmed Arif and Abdulmalik Alem from Jeddah, and Ahmed Fadlallah from Makkah received certificates of appreciation for their outstanding performance.

Amal Al-Hazzaa, the Secretary-General of Mawhiba, commended the students, their families, schools, and teachers for their dedication and hard work.

She emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering talent and creativity, and fostering a knowledge-based, competitive society.

The foundation’s goal is to enhance capabilities in science and technology, prepare future generations to contribute to Vision 2030, and address local and global challenges.
