Saudi Nation Raises One Billion Riyals in National Ramadan Charity Campaign
In a display of generosity and unity, King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spearheaded a national Ramadan charity campaign in Saudi Arabia, raising a staggering one billion riyals, organizers announced on Saturday.
King Salman set the tone by opening the campaign with a donation of SR40 million, followed closely by the crown prince with SR30 million. The contributions didn’t stop there, with major companies and foundations stepping up to support the cause. Aramco donated SR35 million, Roshan contributed SR30 million, the King Abdullah Foundation gave SR20 million, Al-Rajhi Endowment provided SR15 million, SNB Alahli donated SR15 million, SABIC gave SR10 million, and Ma’aden pitched in with SR5 million.
The annual National Campaign for Charitable Work, facilitated through the Ehsan platform, is now in its fourth year, and the amount of contributions continues to increase each year. Majid Al-Qasabi, chairman of Ehsan’s supervisory committee, expressed gratitude to the king and crown prince for their generous donations, emphasizing that every contribution received by Ehsan is vital to the success of the Kingdom’s charitable initiatives.
As Ramadan progresses, the campaign will remain open for donations, providing an opportunity for individuals and organizations to continue supporting those in need during this holy month. Muslims are encouraged to engage in charitable acts during Ramadan, making this campaign a crucial part of the community’s efforts to give back and help those less fortunate.
