Saudi Authorities Crack Down on Drug Smuggling Across the Kingdom

In a recent series of operations, Saudi authorities have made significant drug-related arrests, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency on Saturday.

The General Directorate of Narcotics Control successfully apprehended five individuals in Jeddah for violating border security regulations. Among them was an Ethiopian female on a visitor visa who attempted to sell a staggering 27 kg of hashish and amphetamine.

Meanwhile, in Hail, a Saudi national was arrested for selling 9.7 kg of hashish.

In a separate operation in the Al-Harth governorate of the Jazan region, Border Guard patrols thwarted an attempt to smuggle 27 kg of hashish.

Furthermore, in the Al-Raboah sector of the Asir region, Border Guard patrols intercepted five border security violators of Ethiopian and Yemeni nationalities trying to smuggle a massive 352 kg of qat.

Following the completion of preliminary legal procedures, the seized drugs have been turned over to the authorities, and all suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
