Saudi Transport Minister Ensures Smooth Operations at King Abdulaziz International Airport
In a recent inspection tour of Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA), Saudi Transport Minister Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser emphasized the importance of ensuring seamless travel for passengers. As the Kingdom’s busiest airport, Al-Jasser’s visit aimed to oversee the operational plans for the upcoming Umrah season during Ramadan 2024.
Top-Notch Services for Guests’ Comfort
To provide top-notch services and enhance guests’ comfort and convenience, over 27 governmental, security, and operational entities are coordinating efforts. From February 11, 2024, to March 20, 2024, KAIA has handled 5,420,419 passengers on 30,572 flights. The busiest day last year saw 157,800 passengers on March 13, 2023.
Key Officials Accompany Minister on Tour
Accompanied by key officials including GACA President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, CEO Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mughlooth of MATARAT Holding, Chairman Raed Al-Mudaiheem of the Jeddah Airports Company’s board of directors, and Jeddah Airports CEO Mazen Johar, Al-Jasser evaluated passenger movement and operational procedures at the airport’s three terminals.
Inspection of Terminals and Facilities
The inspection included a thorough evaluation of the baggage handling area, air-conditioned lounges, and terminals. Al-Jasser visited the Northern Terminal, Terminal 1, and the Hajj Terminal Complex to review sorting areas, waiting areas, parking facilities, and operational processes during peak seasons.

The minister and his team concluded the visit by joining airport staff for a Ramadan breakfast, highlighting the commitment to ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience for passengers at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
