Smooth Transportation of Pilgrims to Holy Sites: Ministry of Interior’s Successful Plan

The security spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Talal bin Abdulmohsen Al-Shalhoub, announced the successful implementation of the plan’s first phase to smoothly transport pilgrims to the holy sites during the Hajj season 2024.

Daily Press Conference Highlights Progress in Pilgrim Transport

During the daily press conference, Colonel Al-Shalhoub, alongside official spokespersons for the Ministries of Hajj and Umrah, Health, Transport, and Logistics, highlighted the completion of transporting pilgrims from the Grand Mosque to Mina. This marks the first step in their journey towards Arafat.

Crackdown on Illegal Hajj Campaigns and Vehicles

Al-Shalhoub revealed that 160 fake hajj campaigns were seized and 135,098 illegal vehicles were denied access. Additionally, 250,381 non-residents of Makkah were returned, and 6,135 individuals were caught violating residency regulations.

Ensuring Security and Preventing Disruptions

Al-Shalhoub emphasized Saudi Arabia’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the holy sites during Hajj and preventing any disruptions. Any attempts to compromise the safety of pilgrims will be met with firm action.

Infrastructure Development and Digital Transformation for Pilgrims

Ayed Al-Ghuwaynem of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah highlighted infrastructure projects in the holy sites, including water networks and electrical power improvements. The Nusuk platform has facilitated pilgrims’ access to services, with over 3 million readings recorded.

Health Services and Care for Pilgrims

Dr. Mohammad Al-Abdulali of the Ministry of Health discussed the healthcare system’s efforts to provide services to pilgrims. Approximately 35,000 healthcare professionals and 5,500 volunteers are working through hospitals, health centers, and mobile clinics.

Transport and Logistics Operations for Pilgrims

Saleh Al-Zwaid, the official spokesman for the transport and logistics system, reported that Kingdom’s airports have received over 19 thousand flights from 72 air carriers, coming from more than 90 countries.
