Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Hosts Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez at Al-Salam Royal Palace

In a grand reception at the Al-Salam Royal Palace in Jeddah, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Tuesday, as reported by Saudi Press Agency.

The two leaders engaged in discussions regarding the bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and Spain, in addition to addressing various regional and international developments.

The conversation delved into the situation in the Gaza Strip and surrounding areas, highlighting international efforts to halt Israel’s military operation within the enclave and ensure compliance with international humanitarian laws.

Both leaders discussed strategies to address the security and humanitarian consequences of the Israeli offensive, emphasizing the importance of advancing the peace process in alignment with recent Security Council and UN General Assembly resolutions.

Furthermore, Prince Mohammed and Sanchez emphasized the necessity of implementing the Arab Peace Initiative to facilitate a just and comprehensive resolution to the crisis, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The meeting was attended by several Saudi ministers, including Prince Faisal bin Farhan (Foreign Minister), Prince Khalid bin Salman (Defense Minister), Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman (Energy Minister), and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki (Sports Minister).

Spanish officials present at the reception included Manuel de la Rocha Pazquez (Secretary of State for the Secretariat of Economic Affairs and the G20), Emma Aparrethe Pazquez de Braga (Secretary-General of the General Secretariat for Foreign Affairs of the Prime Minister), and Jorge Ibia Serra (Spain’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia).
