Riyadh to Launch Dictionary of “E-Government Terminology”
The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language, in collaboration with the Digital Government Authority, is set to unveil a groundbreaking dictionary of “e-government terminology.”
The primary goal of this initiative is to establish uniformity in the Arabic spelling of words used by public servants and researchers, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, the secretary-general of the academy, expressed his gratitude to Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan and the chairman of the academy’s board for their unwavering support in creating this essential resource. Al-Washmi also extended his thanks to Ahmed Al-Soyyan, the governor of the Digital Government Authority, for his contributions to the project.
The dictionary will encompass the key terms and phrases commonly utilized on e-government platforms. It will be meticulously organized in both Arabic and English, following an alphabetical order.
According to SPA, the implementation of this dictionary is poised to mitigate confusion and misinterpretation of digital government terminology, thereby enhancing clarity and precision in communication. Ultimately, it is expected to expedite the Kingdom’s digital transformation efforts.
