Riyadh Metro Revolutionizes Transportation in the Capital

Riyadh’s new metro system is set to transform the way people travel, offering a time-efficient and convenient mode of transportation for all segments of society, according to the CEO of the Saudi Quality of Life Program.

Convenient Operating Hours and Seamless Connectivity

The Riyadh Metro operates daily from 6 a.m. to midnight, with multiple trips running around the clock on each of its six lines. The headway between trains at stations is minimal, ensuring a smooth and efficient commuting experience.

Multiple Ticketing Options for Passengers

Passengers have various options to purchase tickets, including ticket vending machines at stations and information desks within the stations. The capacity of the trains ranges from 240 to 260 passengers per trip, contributing to the reduction of traffic congestion in Riyadh.

Enhancing Quality of Life and Promoting Public Transport

The Riyadh Metro is a key pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enhance the quality of life in the Kingdom’s capital by diversifying public transportation options and promoting the use of mass transit. This initiative reduces the reliance on private vehicles and fosters a culture of sustainable transportation.

Driving Urban Development and Job Opportunities

The Riyadh Metro is not only easing road congestion but also providing a fast and affordable transportation solution for all segments of society. It enhances the city’s appeal, drives urban development around stations, and creates job opportunities. The project is expected to play a significant role in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

Expanding Network and Sustainable Features

The Riyadh Metro’s six lines cover a total length of 176 km with 85 stations, including four primary stations. The project, inaugurated by King Salman, features sustainable characteristics such as energy-efficient trains and stations, regenerative braking technology, and the use of renewable energy sources like solar panels.
