Aviation leaders and key figures from across the globe are gearing up to convene in Riyadh for the highly anticipated Future Aviation Forum 2024. This three-day event will showcase the latest innovations in global air travel, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious goal to generate $100 billion from the aviation sector by 2030.

Under the theme “Elevating Global Connectivity,” the forum will bring together more than 5,000 experts and leaders in aviation from over 100 countries. Participants will include ministers, regulators, manufacturers, as well as representatives from airlines and airports.

Led by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the event is scheduled to take place from May 20 to 22, showcasing various projects and incentives aimed at attracting investments into Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing aerospace sector. Investment opportunities include projects in airports, airlines, ground services, cargo, and logistics, with a focus on attracting global investors.

The forum aims to highlight over $100 billion in investment opportunities, with a significant portion allocated to airports, new aircraft orders, and other key projects. Following the success of the 2022 edition, which saw the signing of numerous agreements totaling $2.7 billion, this year’s forum will feature commercial announcements, roadmap presentations, and specialized panel sessions focusing on general aviation. 

Key Statements from Ministers

Minister for Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser will inaugurate FAF24, emphasizing the vast aviation investment opportunities available in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Aviation Strategy aims to triple passenger numbers, connect to over 250 destinations, and manage millions of passengers and tons of cargo by 2030. 

Emphasizing Investment in Aviation

The Investment Showcase at the forum will be inaugurated by the Minister of Investment Khaled Al-Falih, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s position as a global investment hub. With a target of $3.3 trillion in investment by 2030, the aviation sector plays a crucial role in the Kingdom’s economic transformation.

GACA is set to unveil a General Aviation roadmap, aiming to significantly increase the sector’s contribution to Saudi Arabia’s GDP by 2030. The roadmap will focus on business jet segments, infrastructure development, and regulatory enhancements to support the Kingdom’s growth as a global business and tourist destination.
