The bustling city of Washington welcomed a strong Saudi presence on Monday as the International Conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors 2024 kicked off with a bang.
Saudi Delegation Shines at Three-Day Event
A delegation of 100 participants from the Saudi Association of Internal Auditors graced the event, showcasing the leading internal audit professionals and service providers from the kingdom.
Led by the esteemed Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Angari, president of the General Court of Audit and chairman of SAIA’s board of directors, the Saudi delegation made their mark at the conference.
Saudi Arabia Takes the Lead
SAIA’s role as a “diamond sponsor” of the conference solidified Saudi Arabia’s prominence in the field of internal auditing. Five speakers nominated by the association will delve into key topics such as the 2035 vision for the profession, advisory roles, integrated assurance processes, and audit considerations in construction projects.
These sessions aim to showcase Saudi Arabia’s leadership in internal auditing on a global scale.

Al-Angari highlighted Saudi Arabia’s pioneering status in various fields, especially in internal auditing. He emphasized the profession’s evolution alongside technological advancements, particularly the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry.

The International Conference of the Institute of Internal Auditors 2024 drew 2,300 internal auditors from around the world, creating a diverse and dynamic environment for knowledge exchange.
With 55 speakers covering seven main topics, the event will delve into crucial areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fraud, sustainability, global standards, governance, board relations, and human capital.
