Stay Safe During the Changeable Weather in Saudi Arabia
In light of the heavy rain forecasted in many parts of Saudi Arabia between now and Monday, authorities are urging the public to take extra precautions and ensure their safety.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense is advising people to stay in safe places during rainfall, avoiding swamps, valleys, and flood-prone areas. Swimming in bodies of water affected by the bad weather is strongly discouraged, and individuals are urged to follow official warnings and instructions disseminated through the media and social networking sites.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, moderate-to-heavy rainfall, potentially turning into torrential rain and hail accompanied by strong winds that raise dust and dirt, is expected in various regions including Makkah, Al-Baha, Asir, Jazan, Al-Jawf, Hail, Al-Qassim, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders.
Residents of Riyadh region should also be prepared for similar weather conditions. Areas such as the capital city, Afif, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Quwayyah, Al-Majma’ah, Thadiq, Marat, Al-Ghat, Al-Zulfi, and others are likely to be affected.
In parts of Makkah region, light-to-moderate rainfall is expected, which could escalate into torrential rain, hail, and strong winds. Areas like Makkah city, Al-Jumum, Taif, and Maysan should remain vigilant.
