Warning: Saudi Civil Defense Issues Alert on Flammable Materials in Cars!

Riyadh Civil Defense Warns Against Flammable Materials in Vehicles During Summer Heat

In a strong warning, the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Riyadh cautioned individuals against storing flammable materials in their vehicles amidst the scorching summer heat in the Kingdom.

The directorate specifically highlighted the dangers of leaving items such as portable chargers, phone batteries, gas canisters, perfumes, bottles of hand sanitizer, and other flammable substances inside vehicles, as they could easily ignite and lead to devastating fires.

A recent 2023 report from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology has revealed that Saudi Arabia is experiencing rapid climate change compared to other regions.

The report painted a grim picture, indicating that the global average temperature is projected to increase by nearly 3°C by the end of the century, relative to the pre-industrial period of 1850–1900.

Despite these alarming findings, the report emphasized that there is still hope to mitigate the negative impacts of climate change if action is taken promptly.

With its ambitious goals outlined in Saudi Vision 2030, abundant solar resources, and significant role in the global energy market, Saudi Arabia is poised to lead the way in climate change mitigation and adaptation, paving the path for a more sustainable future.
