The 55th annual NAACP Awards in Los Angeles saw Middle Eastern star Yara Shahidi making a stunning appearance alongside other stars flaunting ensembles by Arab designers.
CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS OF PEOPLE OF COLOR
The ceremony honored the accomplishments of people of color in film, television, music, and literature, with R&B icon Usher taking home the entertainer of the year award.
ARAB DESIGNERS TAKE CENTER STAGE
Yara Shahidi, donning a look from Italian label Ferragamo’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, turned heads at the ceremony. Meanwhile, Usher’s wife Jennifer Goicoechea stunned in a gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad.
Actress Queen Latifah wowed in a lilac creation by Georges Hobeika, while model Madisin Rian rocked a burgundy jumpsuit by Saiid Kobeisy.

Usher highlighted his recent achievements on stage, including a sold-out Las Vegas residency, marriage, album release, and record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance.

In addition to his entertainer of the year win, Usher was recognized with the President’s Award for his public service efforts through his New Look Foundation.
NAACP IMAGE AWARDS HIGHLIGHTS
“The Color Purple” was named best motion picture, and legendary group New Edition was inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
